Performance: Glove performance is a combination of warmth, humidity evacuation, and sensibility or feel. Level gloves provide optimum warmth and dryness while providing exceptional dexterity for strapping bindings, buckling boots, or holding ski poles. In some models Level also incorporates a special reflex stimulation system called Kirax, which improves circulation and sensory efficiency.
Warmth: Warmth, the glove’s most important function, is determined by its capacity for heat retention and its ability to keep hands dry. To deliver optimum warmth, Level specifies the perfect insulation material and the ideal waterproof, breathable membrane for each glove, including the use of world renowned GORE–TEX® membranes. Level uses a design process called “Thermo–plus” to select the right combination of insulators, waterproof membranes, linings, and shell materials to deliver the ideal product to the end user.
Durability: Level gloves are virtually “bomb-proof”…built to withstand abrasion from snow, snowboards, sharp edges, and everything else encountered while riding or getting to the mountain. Reinforcing Kevlar and rubber composites are used to combat abrasion, while double stitching and stretch materials fight wear and tear on seams. Level searches for the world’s highest quality materials and then subjects them to punishing tests in its R and D department before selecting them for production. Among these materials is Pittard’s leather, known for its rich appearance, natural water proofing, breathability, and durability.
Protection: Level has become the first glove company to study snowboard wrist injuries and to deliver an integrated wrist guard-glove system that is comfortable, versatile, and effective in reducing the risk of wrist injury. This system, called Biomex, has been shown to reduce the risk of wrist injury by over 700%. For ski gloves Level has studied different solutions for protecting the knuckles, back of the hand, and fingers, especially for ski racers and competitive free riders. These protective components, made form shock absorbing polymer materials, are ideally located on the gloves to maximize protection while ensuring flexibility and comfort.
Comfort: Level gloves are designed with an anatomical, relaxed fit that is exceptionally comfortable. The shape of the glove, which has a pre-curved finger design, allows the glove to wrap comfortably around the hand and follow the natural curvature of the fingers. Soft materials are used throughout the lining and in areas that contact the face or nose. The remaining shell materials are selected to provide lots of dexterity for handling zipper pulls, goggles, or sun glasses.
